Ruhama

 

 

Ruhama is an Irish NGO which works on a national level with women affected by prostitution. Our service is comprehensive to meet the broad range of experiences of women affected by prostitution.

 

We provide services to women who are currently involved in on-street and off-street prostitution; women who are exiting prostitution; women who are victims of sex trafficking and women who have a history of prostitution.

 

Ruhama’s services to women include the following:

  • Individual casework support and advocacy

  • Provide crisis accommodation in emergency situations to women

  • One to one and group training and development opportunities

  • Support into mainstream training, education and employment

  • Housing and social welfare

  • Street outreach to Dublin’s ‘red light’ areas

  • Outreach service to women’s prison and sexual health clinic

  • Emotional and psychological supports including access to counseling

  • Practical support (material needs) in certain circumstances

  • Interpretive support

  • Referral to other key agencies that can offer support
