“Shelter “Safe House”” was established on August 6, 2007 with the aim to develop support services to victims of human trafficking, legal immigrants, including asylum seekers, refugees and persons granted subsidiary protection status by ensuring the individual’s right to receive adequate assistance and protection; promoting rehabilitation and reintegration of victims of human trafficking into the society; creating interactive forms of training, and expanding cooperation with state and local government institutions, public and Christian

organizations in Latvia and worldwide.

Centre MARTA

 

 

Centre MARTA in 2015-2017 is providing national social rehabilitation services and assistance in the criminal process for the victims of human trafficking: consultations of social worker, psychologist, legal assistant, translator, medical personnel and other specialists if necessary.

 

The work is aimed to reduce the consequences of traumatic experience, reintegrate victim to society and support in learning necessary social skills. Centre MARTA have signed agreements with shelters in Latvia, where victims of human trafficking can live for a period up to 6 months.

 

Centre MARTA can provide also repatriation of the victims from abroad to Latvia.
